The chronicling of our adventures in South Korea and Asia!

Christmas miracle?

Call it a Christmas miracle if you like. Last July I lost my wallet, well, that isn’t really accurate. I knew exactly where I had left it and it was gone when I went to retrieve it. Since the place I left it was out in public, some have called it lost. Some might say stolen, some might even say found. At any rate, that Wallet is no longer lost or found, depending on your perspective. SIXTEEN MONTHS LATER, my wallet has returned to me. Yep.

In an amazing sequence of events my Wallet was NOT stolen in those five minutes we were separated. No, my money was stolen, but my wallet was tossed behind the lockers. So when I went back I couldn’t find it anywhere. I had to replace everything from my VISA to my Alien registration card. Not to mention I had lost my Canadian driver’s licence as well as my Health card.

Not long ago, unbeknownst to me and my coworkers, somebody on our staff had purchased the small gym. Her husband had been running it for a few weeks and decided it was time to tear down and clean up. Imagine their surprise when they found a foreigner’s Wallet, and one that they knew no less. It must have been a real shock to them, it sure was a shock to me.

So when she told me the story at school we laughed, I was happy. She made sure to clarify that there was no money in the wallet. I’m just glad to have my licence back, not to mention it’s a nicer wallet than it’s replacement. It’s just too bad they had to see my licence photo…
