All has been quiet on the Northern front. Well, unless you count a surprise attack the South conducted on itself to judge the preparedness of their soldiers. It was a miserable failure according to my co-teacher. Great.
On a lighter note, let’s talk about Christmas! According the the BBC,
North Korea has warned South Korea of “unexpected consequences” if it lights up a Christmas tree-shaped tower near their tense border.
So that wasn’t much lighter at all. [unless you enjoy puns]
The North cites fears of a spreading Christianity as the reason for the threats. I think the real problem is that if North Koreans start seeing representations of vegetation they may start to believe that food does, in fact, exist.
